What about AI and LLMs & SEO?
You might be hearing buzz about ranking in ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI models. Don’t be misled by “fly-by-night” claims or expensive “AI-specific” packages. These offers, unfortunately, are not based in facts and research.

Should NDs use Squarespace or Wordpress? Do I need to switch from Squarespace to WordPress to rank in Google and achieve my business goals?
The truth is, a solid strategy transcends any specific platform. If a consultant claims your naturopathic doctor website’s SEO is doomed by your CMS, take it as a red flag. Often, agencies push this narrative to upsell unnecessary migrations.
My advice? Stick with the platform that fits your daily workflow best; your results depend on your content and technical execution, not the brand of your dashboard.
I thought that ChatGPT, Gemini, and other LLMs were more important than SEO now—isn’t that where I should put my efforts?
It’s all searching! While there are many SEO agencies and “digital marketers” happy to take your money with promises of performing in various generative AI software, data tells us that the techniques that allow your website and name to surface in Google are the same techniques that allow your website and name to surface in that software.
Some unscrupulous agencies are even promising to “feed” your site to AI tools, which does absolutely nothing. Be careful out there!
I’ve never marketed my ND practice—it’s all been word of mouth. Do you have recommendations for getting started?
Absolutely! If you’ve never done any marketing, here’s where I recommend you start:
Shore up your website—make sure you have a good infrastructure to build upon.
Get clear on your audience and who you want to help.
Develop a system for engaging your current patients so that you stay top of mind (a newsletter is great for this).
Create a solid content strategy you can easily repurpose.
There are lots of details we can get into, but this is a good start if you’ve never done anything before.
I’m not a licensed naturopath, will you work with me?
We only work with NDs who have attended an accredited program and are licensed to practice by your state or province. If you have a health coaching arm of your practice, due to the complexity of licensure laws, that’s fine. However, we recognize that practicing naturopathic medicine is complex and needs thorough training, hence we do not work with self-trained naturopaths.
How do I know I’m ready to get serious about marketing my ND practice?

1. You Have a Defined “Sphere of Authority™”
You aren't just a “naturopathic doctor,” you have identified the specific intersection of your clinical expertise and a high-value audience's needs. You are ready when you can articulate:
Who you specifically help (e.g., women with postpartum thyroid issues vs. general wellness).
What makes your approach unique (your specific methodology or framework)
2. Your Operations Can Handle the Influx
Marketing is an amplifier—if your systems are broken, marketing will only amplify the chaos. You are ready when:
Your “Reception” is set: Your website clearly directs visitors to a specific next step (booking a consult, joining a waitlist).
Your pricing is sustainable: You aren't just busy; you’re profitable.
You have capacity: You have the mental and schedule-based "room" to actually treat new patients once they arrive.
3. You Move from “Performance” to “Alignment”
A key takeaway from my methodology is that marketing shouldn't feel like a forced performance or a race. You are ready when you stop asking "What is everyone else doing?" and start asking:
What marketing feels “easy” or “fun” for you? (e.g., writing deep-dive articles vs. being on TikTok).
What is your “Doorway?” You’ve identified one or two channels that feel authentic to you rather than trying to be everywhere at once.
You don’t need to be perfect to start, but you do need to be clear. If you have a solid offer, a way to capture leads, and a message that feels like "an unavoidable truth" rather than a sales pitch, you are ready to begin.
