We love it when our past clients come back to us for more help when they’re ready to take their business to the next level! Our friends Caliber Homes Portland worked with us several years ago on their very first website and after tweaks and updates over the years, we collectively decided it was time for a complete overhaul to better position them for marketing to buyers’ agents in Portland.
We discussed it, and decided that keeping them on Squarespace 7.0 (aff link) made the most sense for a number of reasons, namely the following:
- Our client wouldn’t need to learn a new system, therefore saving her time!
- All the images from past properties were stored in the site’s image library—and they’re still very much needed.
- The 7.1 feature we really liked—portfolio collections—could be emulated closely using a second blog.
With the choice to stay on Squarespace 7.0 made, we designed a streamlined and organized site into a resource and reference for their ideal audience.
We are big advocates for template-izing anything we can for clients. We know that when we empower folks with something they can use over and over, they do more to market their businesses using appropriate and effective systems.
So, during our website design process, we focused on creating as many reusable components as we could, including a fancy new landing page template that could be reused for each new property they developed and post templates for the blog.
We also used one of my favorite components of Squarespace—the ability to easily have multiple blogs for different purposes!
This is a great way to keep sites organized, as you can categorize content and even display that content elsewhere. It also makes it easier for clients to have internal site navigation—something missing from other collections within Squarespace.
Once again, congrats to Ceanne and Steve for this next step in your business! We’ve loved seeing you grow and can’t wait for what the future holds!
